So with Christmas coming at us with speed we have got our next stop booked In and this time we are getting paid for our efforts and have got a 2 bedroom unit and no power or water costs which is great, as most are aware the costs just go up around December and unless you have a spot out of the way it can cost twice as much to park or stay.
So have been planning this for a while and have found our place to stop and may stay put and use this spot as a base while we explore around Victoria and Melbourne. Of course Ellen will be visiting Brisbane during the lead up or after Christmas again, Plus with the added cost of fuel on the way it is for now, the less we drive the better as it does ad a lot to the budget when you travel a lot with a van behind you.
There is more but keeping that as a surprise and you will know about that on the 17th Nov. when we get into the mainland.
So we have less than 4 weeks now here on the island and only a few more things to see and will post those in coming weeks and will take the last week to repack the van and finish off the mowing etc. before the owner return on the 13th Nov.

Gunns Plains Caves was well worth the drive from Burnie and is the second caves we have visited while here in Tasmania and has a good walk way and some low rocks to go under but we did enjoy the visit here and if you wish to see the visit from our other Cave visit HERE
The cave entrance is situated 30 metres from the car park. Upon entry a flight of 54 concrete steps are descended. From this point the pathway is fairly level apart from a short ladder to be climbed down. The tour route into the cave is 275 metres long. Occasional dampness underfoot is not troublesome provided visitors wear low-heeled walking shoes. It is not recommended for those with health or mobility concerns. Please check first.
The cave was formed by an underground stream that still flows and contains Giant Freshwater Lobster, fish and eel. Platypus sleep and nest in the sandy banks along the river. Lofty chambers contain many varied formations including magnificent calcite shawls.
"The cave has magnificent shawl and flowstone formations. " Check out the web site for more info HERE
Plus the bonus of having glow-worms display which is great like stars in the night skies.

Gunns Plains is a small town located 20 km south of Ulverstone on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia. The valley has a population of approximately 171. The Leven River winds slowly through its pastures that support a variety of grazing stock.
So if you are looking to stay out towards Gunn Caves, look at Riana camping site it not far away and the area is stunningly green and with the rolling hills is a mind blowing area with shops not far away.
