ANNEXE, DO I OR NOT.
People ask all the time do I take my annexe and all I can really do is explain the pros and cons of taking it with you as they come in so many ways, so size weight and have you the room to store it.
We have an annexe, and I don't really believe we need the whole thing, but I am only a half of this group so I have to respect her wish's as well, so I have made do with it and as you see below we have a good number of ways to use it, most times we just have the red side awning out on the long side which gives us some privacy and a cool area to sit and still be not hiding away.
We are lucky in that our annexe is in three pieces with zips to join it into a full annexe, so sometimes I will use an end section as a privacy screen or to block out the sun, wind or rain .
To date we have only used the whole annexe once and we were in one spot for 8 weeks and it did give us a extra room and somewhere to stretch out and watch TV outside and as it has larger windows have them open and still have a feeling of a room.
Now when it comes to storing it the long side which is the less used I have layer it out under the bed like a ground sheet which does not take up any room and so don't have a bulky stack and the other parts which are not so bulky folded as flat as I can.
So overall it can be packed away without too much loss of space and well the weight, it is and can be heavy but that's the part everyone has to decide on taking or not.
So if you plan to take a annexe and have not got one yet, best to get one that is made up of at least three pieces that is front, back and long side with lots of windows with screens and door option and do get the van skirt that fits to van and complete the room off and stops wind and animals coming in under the van and of course a floor mat which I will show you ours in the coming weeks, hope this helps ...............
