today we took the time and drove out to Beaconsfield to visit the site of the mining accident all those years ago we all sat and watched hoping they would be got out.
And as you enter town you see the main A frame above the mine and you remember it all.
It is of course now closed and has been since 2012 near 6 years after the accident, and the town is only very small with little shops and it must have hit hard when they lost their jobs those who worked on site.

There is a lot of the place falling down and showing its age and they have added a museum to the site, which you can walk about in the old areas and see the happens from the past and a very detailed story about the issue in 2006
You walk near the park and you can see in your mind the news crew with cameras set up across the park which is just across the road, it must have been hard for family that lived in town with all those strangers running about.
