WEEK 120, JUST MOVIN ALONG...

Picture
Hello All,
Well its a roller coaster of late with working and Ellen going away and deciding what we will be doing in future as we move forward.
Things will be changing and we shall be going to do what we want for a while and all will have to understand.

To start over the past few months I have been trying to have a bit of a sea change and that was in going into Caravan Parks and working and I applied for some 29 jobs and I got a few replies but I was I Tasmania and that was an issue as most wanted you now and something we could not do at that time.
And after spending near a Thousand Dollars on one interview with flights and food etc. and only to be disappointed in the end I almost gave up then. But I kept going and I finally got some one who wanted me and as we took the job without seeing the place, but how bad could it be from photos and reviews we saw looked ok.
We arrived to the place to see a run down and very seedy looking place and the long hours, but was willing to give it a go.
But within a few days to be told that the managers were leaving within a couple of weeks and the new managers would take over in a couple of weeks.

Will that's when it all started going down hill, my training stopped and I was just used somewhat as a labour just mowing and trying to clean up a park that had not had much looking after in 6 years, so after the new people started I was given jobs he did not want to do including painting his unit upstairs which had been left in a poor state, I was happy to do but he expected me to carry out all jobs around park at same time, so no team work was here, and I believe he did no want me here anyway and in the end he told me that he was sacking me because I did not carry out my work the way he wanted, yet he did not tell or explain the works he required.
In the that I was angry and disappointed but deep down was feeling glad I was going as I have a guess that he has someone else in mind to work here and not me, he gave me 4 weeks which I have told him that I would leave the day after Ellen gets back which was two weeks and I have been doing no more that enough to pass the hours as he goes around not doing anything but trying to get me to work at things he does not want to do as the painting etc. But I have so many other things that need doing as people need thing repaired. which keeps me busy and they are upset that I have the only one helping them and I am leaving now so he will have his work cut out.

There is over 350 people living here in small units that some are new and others need a bulldozer put though them and I feel for some of the people who really cant afford much

So during the past few days I have been putting our stuff back into the van and getting ready for when Ellen returns Friday Morning and we will finish off the last things and move out of here and head to our friends two suburbs away.
While I am looking forward to getting out of here, I have made some friends who are living in the park who don't want us to go but, it is best for us to go.
Let me tell you I will not miss the hours I do here I am doing a ten day shift with near 10 hr. days every day and the last week is made up of 10 hr days to 5 hrs. for the last three days so over all 70 plus hours without a day off and the money is not great but we do get a unit and all power etc. as part of deal.

So I have spent Christmas in Melbourne on my own on call here and it has been hard, but I took time and visited the most lovely people who we meet months and months ago who are now a family to us and had dinner with them which got me away from the park for awhile, they have been so kind and Mary and Ellen get along so well and we are going to miss them badly and when Ellen returns we shall spend a week before we head north and hope we can or they get to visit again in the future, they are so great and helpful and we don't know what we have done without them really, We cant really Thank enough, John And Mary for their friendship and help over the past weeks and months

I am also on call for 7 days at night which can be very quiet time or as I have been called out for a naked man walking about to a call at 11.30pm for change for the washing machines so can be a pain as you really don't sleep that well.

I have more stories about that I will save for now

caravan park section which is full for christams
Enough of that for now, as we travel about Melbourne you see some strange art works along the roads and the amount of toll roads and costs is great and wonder why they have such things as most can't drive now without putting things to look at everywhere

So it has not been all too bad, while at the local shops I was approached by some kids who sold me some tickets to a raffle that was for local scouts and I got $10 worth not really thinking I would ever win and well people I won second prize just before Christmas and you are going to laugh what I won, it was a ride on mower, yes people I won a ride on mower. Now as you travel that would a item that you would have in your wanted list I am sure.

Well I spoke to the person who rang me about the prize and aske if I could swap with the person who won third prize and I was not being smart because it was a TV and I really did not understand its size either, well the that person rang me after a couple of days and we agreed to swap and he would give me the TV and 800 dollars as a swap, well the TV is a 65inch and it fits in van ok but I have to put on bed for it to travel and people its as big as bed, bloody huge thing. But being the latest TV about I will be looking forward to see it unpacked and working, but for know its on the bed and will have to stand it up to sleep and its as high as the cupboards in the van so will be ok for a while.

And people that's not all, as I thought we would be here for a while I got a desktop computer to do my computer stuff, it is a near new setup and with 3 monitors and all the trimming we have a further issues about it in van as well, but I kept the boxing that it was in so it can be put on the back seat of 4x4 as we travel and in the space between bed and wall of van. So you are reading we have a few extras now in the van, but there is more.
Those who have followed us would know that I got Ellen a car so now we will be travelling with her driving in her car and yes we have a plan for it all. So have decided for now that the caravan is called "Harvey Norman" as has so much electric gear in it and I am lucky not to have a great huge ride on mower in there somewhere

So now we come to our plans for the future and what we will be doing, the past few weeks, months Ellen has been missing the grandkids more and more and she can say what she wants but I know and can see it. I knew when we started this that these days would come and she has been strong about it and she is holding up well but the travelling which was my dream and which to date has been great, but we are Married and are a team so in an effort to help her and me I guess, we shall after the 6th January 2019 will be heading back north for a time, but it will be under some changes and not as before we left, as I don't want to live in Brisbane as I am well over traffic and travelling hours to work. I have already been able to get a job for 5 days a week and I will get more for that than 10 days here and we will be not living close to kids at all and have decided that Caloundra on the sunshine coast is where we will be, till Ellen decides that she is able to travel again that maybe 12 months or what ever as I will be not moving till she feels happy about it again as there has to been give and take in any relationship and I have had my time in the travelling mode for now.

The van we will live in in Caloundra for a few weeks till we can find a unit that will suit us and so I don't have a house and grass to look after and the van is booked into storage under cover once we get a unit.

So we will leave Melbourne on the 6th January, heading north and Ellen will follow me in her car and as the van don't go too fast she should be right. We shall be only travelling 4 to 5 hours each day, so Albury on border first day then to Temora in NSW and on to Dubbo and onto Queensland stopping at border than to maybe Strathpine showgrounds and then to Caloundra to the beach side park we shall stay at.

The plan is for overnight stays along the way, but if we need an extra night so be it as I don't start work till the 21st January and I only need a few days rest before I start work.

Some would say get rid of car, no I got that so she could have access to be able to drive and here in Melbourne the traffic is so bad she has not been able to get out as it is over powering but once we get to coast she should be fine and where we are going the kids are only an hour away and her sister lives on the coast along with her brothers etc. and she can get to them with a car so not taking that away, we shall just take our time.

Please don't think the travelling has ended, we shall still be out on weekends checking out all the places around where we are going and beyond as we will do small trips about and visiting friends who live in some interesting places close by, so the Blog etc. will keep going and maybe a monthly thing but we shall get out again but for now. we are going to do something we want and need as the grandies are growing fast and time with them is just as important, we have very lucky to see and do some many thing in past couple of years and at least we can say we have done it unlike a lot of people who can only dream about it and in the end you have to look after your own family first and everything else is second.

Mind you we have meet and been part of some great people and family's and will never forget them and are always speaking to them and hopefully will for a long time and will visit all again some time, but for now its about our needs and wants

Till Next  Month
