Mt. Roland House Sitting

Picture
Here are a number of photos taken around the house sit we are at for the next couple of months and it is air BNB house and while the owner are away, there is no rooms to hire so we have the whole place to ourselves
From the time you turn off the main road and head up the winding dirt road which is a little steep you know you are going to see something special and as you just keep climbing up you wonder if the van is going to be able have enough room and all you can do is keep going nowhere to turn around now.
The one thing I was told by the owners was don't go past the yellow door, or you will not be able to turn around.
So as we came around this bend there was the yellow door and we turned onto a bush track and the road got narrow and you could not see what was ahead.

We just keep going as the track turned and the bush closed in around us and I was having to be aware of the trees and the van.
After a short time we came out onto the clearing and there were piles of cut firewood stacked up waiting to taken to the fire places and more logs yet to be cut up into pieces.

we turned the last corner and headed up into the main yard and stopped, happy to have got the van so far. We meet the people and had a coffee and chatted for a while them.
Getting the van to where it had to be was going the be fun, had to first turn around in the house yard and then head back down the hill, I had the 4x4 in low range as the next step was having to back up the hill onto a flat area outside the gates, due to our size it was the only place it would fit.

Behind the Gate......

So behind those huge gates is the heart of the place, the gates are to protect the gardens and grass from the wildlife from eating everything on site.
