The Lake Mary area is a little know haven for bushwalkers, climbers and birdwatchers, about 20km west of Yeppoon. Close by to Lake Mary itself is Mt Hedlow, a large mountain which has great views all around from the top.

Running alongside the road is Hedlow Creek, a beautiful ribbon of water in otherwise dry country. The creek is used for canoeing, fishing, swimming and bird watching.

​We took a drive out along the road which cuts though a large cattle station where there are cattle roaming about so caution when driving, the vista is great, we were able to see it all green due to the rain in recent weeks.

​It is a gem to just drive slowly past the green paddocks with the creek running down the other side of the road ita grand view across the fields to the hills and mountains rising up out of nowhere .

Would only travel in a higher car as road was I little rough in places.

​The joy of driving out here along these great dirt roads I have to wash the car again before the week ends, OH joy!!
