Herberton Historic Village

We visited the village today while the weather was not good we were going as from where we are staying the village is higher up the range so we were hopeful the weather would be ok.We got there around 9 am the find a good number of people were on site, and the local S.E.S were looking after the car park.

We were welcomed into the village and they explained what the day would bring and was give the info on days event, it's such a big place, and the display was huge in size and items to see. We set our way around, and there was something new at every corner, and the people around us were joining in in that spoke of their life when they came into contact with something they grew up.The displays were well set up, and every item had a tag explaining it to you, so you knew what you were looking at, some things you remember from your life.

The old coach's have been restored back to there glory days and are the great way to see how people moved about this country in those times.

Old hats and clothes, they would have been very hot in the summer time

As you see, I have tried to get photos of as much as possible so you could be on the journey with us. We got well into the site and ended up over in the railway area, and we had a ride down the track and back from the workshops where they are building a refurbished carriage and steam engine for future openings.
They have near every place of the past, and it is amazing how many things you remember from
your childhood and future kids will be in shock to see stuff that they will have no idea how it works, in fact, some of the machines here I would not know the how and why of some now.
I have tried to keep the photos together, so you see all photos of all the cars or toys together, but some plans don't work so hope you don't mind.
If I have fixed and matched some but not others as I took so many photos it is a long hard job to sort them out, mind you I will over the weeks when I have time free
